Jan. 22, 2021 – The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Power 领导 Breakfast looked different this year. Guests viewed this year’s presentation virtually, and as of Jan. 21, views clocked in at more than 2,100 and still counting as people log in to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy.
This year’s theme was Justice, centered around Dr. King’s quote, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” The event included conversations with three community leaders: Angela Tucker, 199th Texas district court judge; 普莱诺警察局局长埃德·德雷恩； and Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College district president.
The virtual event also featured student presentations and performances, and the announcement of multiple scholarships.
