Collin College Auteur Film Series Presents True Grit

The Auteur Film Series presents classic, foreign, and independent films with brief educational introductions before the screenings and faculty-led panel discussions afterward. The film series is designed to challenge the viewer’s intellect and encourage conversations that engage students in civil discourse.
The films will all be shown at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each film begins, and seating is limited. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences.

The Auteur Film Series is supported by Collin College’s Academic Affairs and Workforce divisions and funded in part by the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC) at the college.

Collin College’s Auteur Film Series continues its 2023-24 selections with True Grit at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Angelika Film Center in Plano. The screening and subsequent panel discussion are free and open to the public.
A 2010 Coen Brothers remake of the 1969 John Wayne original, True Grit follows a teenage girl as she gallops through the Wild West tracking her father’s murderer.
