Collin College will continue its Dignity Initiative series with two events in April. Both events are free and open to the public. The Dignity Initiative is a district wide effort organized by the Collin College Committee Against Gender Violence and Oppression to educate and provide action steps to end gender-based oppression.

The events planned for April are the following:

Courageous Conversations: Building Communities Free from Sexual Violence

April 4, 2:30-4 p.m.

Frisco Campus Conference Center

Amy Lawrence from The Turning Point will be presenting on sexual violence in our community.

Miss Representation Film Screening and Panel Discussion

April 11, 4:30-6 p.m.

Kone Conference Center (B106), Technical Campus

The film addresses the social media and cultural contributions that result in the underrepresentation of women in influential positions. The discussion will examine similarities and differences between the time the film was made and the reality for women today.
