Collin College Named "Gold" Military Friendly, Military Spouse Friendly School

Institutions which earn Military Friendly® School designations have been evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey which measure factors including student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2024-2025 survey with 537 earning special awards for going above the standard. Collin College’s gold designation signifies that its survey score was within 10% of Top 10 schools in its category – Large Community Colleges.
“Collin College is committed to providing a welcoming academic environment for veterans and military-connected students to achieve their educational goals,” said Alan Pixley, director of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs for Collin College. “We are thankful to be honored for our efforts with these designations and encourage military members and their families to learn about the services we offer.”
The 2024-25 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

The Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources from more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria, and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. Collin College has been named a 2024-25 Military Friendly® School at the Gold rank, as well as a Military Spouse Friendly School. This is the ninth consecutive year the college has been recognized with a Military Friendly designation and the first time it has been recognized at the Gold rank.
