The Collin College Theatre Department will present “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” an energetic tribute to the blockbuster book and film franchise, from March 12-16 in the Plano Campus John Anthony Theatre. Admission is free but reservations are strongly encouraged for this popular show.

“The Lightning Thief” finds Percy Jackson, a teenager unaware of his Greek god father, just trying to get through life when he is accused of stealing Zeus’ lightning bolt. What ensues is a whirlwind adventure to find the real thief and prevent a war among the gods. Set to a rocking score with dynamic vocal performances from some of Collin College’s finest young talents, this show is sure to entertain.

The Collin College Theatre Department production is directed by Robin Armstrong with musical direction by Casey Carter.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m., March 12-15. Matinee shows begin at 2:30 p.m., March 15-16. The Saturday, March 15 matinee performance will have an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. Please note that the show features mild violence and language, strobe lights, and smoke effects. It is recommended for audiences 13 years old and older.
