The Texas Veterans Commission has honored Collin College with gold-level status for the fifth year in a row under its Veterans Education Excellence Recognition Award (威拉) program. 自2021年以来，该学院每年都获得该奖项。

The 威拉 program recognizes colleges and universities that exemplify excellence in education and related services that contribute to the success of veteran and military-connected students. The Texas Veterans Commission’s practice of awarding gold-, silver-, and bronze-level statuses signifies the depth and breadth of the services provided.

More than 3,000 veterans and military-connected students were enrolled in Collin College classes in Spring 2025.

“Collin College is honored to once again be recognized with gold-level status by the Texas Veterans Commission,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, district president of Collin College. “This recognition affirms our commitment to giving back to those who have served our nation. We are proud to provide veteran and military-connected students with the resources, support, and educational opportunities they need to achieve their academic and career goals.”

The college has several Veterans Resource Centers (VRCs) designed to connect students with educational tools, ensure a smooth transition into college, and foster academic success. Information on financial aid, Veterans Affairs education benefits, personal counseling, and membership in the Student Veterans of America is available through the college’s VRCs. Collin College serves more than 60,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 200 degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Construction Management, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Clinical Operations Management, and a new Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Software Development.
