The Collin College Frisco Campus invites writers of all levels to join in on fun activities designed to spark creativity during the CollinWrites series from Oct. 1-Nov. 13.

The new initiative, hosted by the Frisco Campus Writing Center and Library, celebrates creative writing through a variety of events. From workshops to write-in sessions, CollinWrites encourages building connections and community while providing tools and support to help writers explore their voice and pursue their writing goals. The events, which are free and open to the community, include:

• 快闪小说比赛 — From Oct. 1-25, students, faculty, staff, and community members can submit original, creative work for the chance to win a Kindle and a feature in 部队, Collin College’s annual literary journal. Winners will be named in both the “Student” category and the “Staff, Faculty, and Community Member” category.
• 活动及工作坊 — The events and workshops will cover a variety of topics to aid participants in their creative writing journey. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from published authors. 这些活动将在10月和11月期间在校园内和校外举行。
• 补名选票的会话 -精选工作坊将在活动结束时提供书面会议。 These sessions will offer writers the opportunity to gather and individually write on a topic of their choice. The write-in sessions will be hosted by Writing Center associates, as well as other experienced writers.
• 幻想节：主题作者宴会 — CollinWrites will conclude with a banquet celebration on Nov. 13 featuring fantasy author and game writer Kij Johnson as keynote speaker, selected readings from contest participants, and a night of fun games. 晚餐将会提供。
