ASL Community Organizations and Resources
Below is a list of suggested places outside of Collin College whereyou can go to practice ASL. Please note that not all of these locations areapproved for course assignments or internships.Each instructor is different, so please refer to your course-specific syllabus to determine which locations meet the requirements for course credit and/or internships. When in doubt, ask your instructor.
This website features news/information for and about the Texas Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community. Click the calendar for suggestions of events you may attend, or you can subscribe to the Deaf Network newsletter for regular updates.
The Deaf Action Center is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in North Texasthat provides those who are deaf and hard of hearing with the means to ensure advancement through education, economic security, and good health. Services include Deaf-accessible housing, advocacy, senior services, Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and CART, and so much more.

Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf (TSID)
The Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf (TSID) is a professional organization of ASLinterpreters in Texas. TSID is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of developing and strengthening the profession of interpreting in Texas.
Membership: Apply online by completing the TSID Application.
