The Collin College Veterinary Technology program will host an information session from noon-1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8 in room 300 of the Wylie Campus Commons building, located at 391 Country Club Road.

The information session will highlight the benefits and job skills of a licensed veterinary technician along with instructions on how to apply to the program. The session will conclude with a tour of the facilities.

“A veterinary technician works with a veterinarian in the same ways that a nurse works with a physician. This event will inform those with a passion for animals and science about the rewarding field of veterinary technology,” said Dr. Catherine Pfent, director of the Veterinary Technology program. “Information session attendees will be given clear guidance on which pre-program classes are required and how to document the minimum 40 hours of clinical experience required to apply to the program.”

The Veterinary Technology program boasts a 100% pass rate on the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and Professor Karina Taylor was recently chosen as Veterinary Technician Educator of the Year.

“We have an exemplary Veterinary Technology program supporting the DFW community. Come to the Wylie Campus and learn what we have to offer in veterinary technician education,” Dr. Pfent said.
Applications for Fall 2024 semester are due May 22. The program also offers information sessions via Zoom, as well as the upcoming in-person session. To register for an information session, visit www.collin.edu/department/vettech/.
